NTPC FY09 net profit up at Rs 7,827 cr

NTPC has announced its FY09 numbers. Its net sales were up 13.9%, to Rs 42,182 crore for the year ended FY09 as against Rs 37,050 crore in FY08.
The company reported net profit of Rs 7,827 crore versus Rs 7,414 crore. It has generated 206.94 billion units of power in FY09, which was up 3% on year-on-year basis.
For the quarter ended March 2009, NTPC has reported net sales of Rs 11,704 crore versus Rs 10,743 crore. Its net profit declined to Rs 1,739 crore from Rs 2,176.6 crore.
