No plans of superseding Maytas Infra board: Govt

August 6th, 2009

After removing four of its nominees from the board of Mahindra Satyam, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs now seems to be moving towards removing its representatives from the board of Maytas Infra.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs will not push for the Maytas Infrastructure board to be superseded completely. So says Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid in an exclusive interaction with CNBC-TV18’s Pranshu Sikka. The minister said it was no more a takeover situation at the company and it was not necessary to overthrow the board anymore. The minister added that the present government nominees would be withdrawn from the board once the immediate crisis is over.
