Mkts end with marginal gains amid volatility
June 16th, 2009
The benchmark indices ended the session on a mildly positive note despite showing smart recovery in the later part of the day. Recovery was led by capital goods, power, financial, realty, metal (barring Sterlite), auto and select telecom stocks. But overall, it was a volatile session for the markets.
However, selling in stocks like Reliance Industries, Bharti, Sterlite, BHEL, Wipro, ICICI Bank, ONGC and Hero Honda capped the gains.
The Sensex was up 32 points, to 14,907 and the Nifty rose 18 points, to 4,502 (provisional data).
