Girls shine in IIM-A’s Class of 2011

AHMEDABAD/NEW DELHI: The temple of excellence’s quest for academic brilliance has opened doors to more women. The 2009-11 PGP batch at the

India’s premier B-school, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A), has seen the percentage of women candidates going up from 6% last year to 19% this year.

IIM-Lucknow (IIM-L) too saw the number of girls going up from under 10% last year to 13.4% this year for its flagship PGP course. The IIMs declared their first offer lists on Friday. The rise in number of girls at other IIMs could not be ascertained as the institutes are still in the process of compilation.
