Exit TTML, says Sharmila Joshi

June 11th, 2009

Sharmila Joshi, Investment Advisor is of the view that one can exit Tata Teleservices and look at some other name within that space which could again gain from the other development like 3G auction if that happens.

Joshi told CNBC-TV18, “Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (TTML) never crosses Rs 40 kind of price with very great conviction. It has got a very large capital base and the fact that operationally it has not been giving very great numbers. Of course recent positives have been there, DoCoMo coming in and the global system for mobile (GSM) rollout but that space is also getting crowded. We have also had Reliance just entering the GSM space, we have seen their new ads hitting just like a couple of weeks back. So their rollout is going to be big. So where do you then stand and how long it will take for all that to positively come in to your numbers. So I think from that perspective, probably to my mind TTML would be one of the weakest plays in that space.”
