Deadline nears: Bharti, MTN may seek more time to ink deal

With the July 31 deadline around the corner for Bharti and MTN to announce a deal, CNBC-TV18’s Siddharth Zarabi reports on the buzz and whether they will make it or not.
It’s almost clear that an extension to the talks period will be announced tomorrow. A formal statement from both companies is a certainty, and a two- to four-week timeframe may be sought. This will be entirely as a consequence of some more time that is required to put in the finishing touches to the deal.
