Consumers worried about poor monsoon, food-led inflation

The Indian consumer is worried about the poor monsoon and food-led inflation. These are the findings from the CNBC-TV18 Boston Analytics Consumer Confidence Index for July. CNBC-TV18’s Haresh Soneji and Arvind Sukumar report.

The equity market may have been rallying on the back of a surprise earnings package from India Inc. However, the consumer is not spending. In fact, he is saving more. Lack of visibility on employment, rising food prices are some of the reasons why consumer confidence continues to fall.
